Running of suvidha special train between Yesvantpur and Belagavi
South Western Railway has decided to run train No. 82661/82662, Yesvantpur-Belagavi-Yesvantpur Suvidha Special for one trip in each direction to clear extra rush of passengers during Holi festival.
Accordingly, train No. 82661, Yesvantpur-Belagavi Suvidha Special will depart from Yesvantpur at 20:15 hrs. on 01st March, 2018 (Thursday) and reach Belagavi at 08:10 hrs. the next day. Enroute, the train will arrive/depart Tumakuru at 21:20/21:22 hrs., Arsikere at 23:10/23:15 hrs., Birur at 23:57/23:59 hrs. and on the next day will arrive/depart Davanagere at 02:20/02:22 hrs., Harihar at 02:43/02:45 hrs., Haveri at 03:50/03:52 hrs., Hubballi at 05:00/05:15 hrs., Dharwad at 05:40/05:42 hrs. and Londa at 07:01/07:02 hrs.
In return direction, train No. 82662, Belagavi-Yesvantpur Suvidha Special will depart from Belagavi at 17:15 hrs. on 04th March, 2018 (Sunday) and reach Yesvantpur at 05:00 hrs. the next day. Enroute, the train will arrive/depart Londa at 18:09/18:10 hrs., Dharwad at 19:30/19:32 hrs., Hubballi at 20:15/20:25 hrs., Haveri at 21:33/21:35 hrs., Harihar at 22:33/22:35 hrs., Davanagere at 22:51/22:53 hrs. and on the next day will arrive/depart Birur at 00:33/00:35 hrs., Arsikere at 01:45/01:50 hrs., Tumakuru at 03:43/03:45 hrs.
The train composition will have 19 coaches comprising of THREE AC 3-Tier coaches, FOURTEEN Second Class Sleeper coaches and TWO Luggage-cum-Brakevans with disabled friendly compartment.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has convened a meeting to take stock on implementation of the 13-digit numbering scheme for M2M communication on Aug.1 this year. This follows the decisions taken on implementing the 13-digit M2M numbering plan from July 1 – to allot 13-digit numbers to all the new M2M connections. All the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have been advised to ensure that their network elements including IT and other relevant systems are aligned with 13-digit numbering for M2M SIMs before 1st July, 2018 i.e., the readiness of Lawful Interception (LI) system has also to be ensured for I3-digit numbers before 1st July 2018.

Belagavi is the first to implement the ‘No Helmet, No Petrol’ model awareness campaign in the state of Karnataka. This campaign will start in the twin cities of Dharwad – Hubballi from February 22. 
The 360 foot high flag post will have a 9600 sq feet National flag measuring 80 /120 feet. The estimated cost of the project is 1.57 crores and another 2.5 crores will be spent for Landscaping.

According to Gururaj’s complaint, he used to have business transactions with Rotomac Exports Private Limited, one of Kothari’s ventures. Gururaj had given Kothari an advance cheque of Rs 3 crore for supplying iron ore. Gururaj alleges that though the ore was never delivered, Kothari insisted that he had supplied it. The matter reached an Allahabad court, where Gururaj won the case. Kothari called Gururaj for a meeting in Goa on August 20, 2010. There, Kothari introduced one Sharma as an SP rank officer with the CBI. Investigators would later find that Sharma never worked for the CBI and his actual name is Parth Das. Showing fake arrest warrants against Gururaj and his family, the duo sought to settle the ongoing case. They also seized Gururaj’s cars from his Belagavi residence. They allegedly took Gururaj’s signatures on blank sheets and stamp papers. The FIR states that coaccused Vinit Wakhare, Chimanbhai Patel, Rajshekhar Biradar and Jayesh Parab helped Kothari.

According to the wildlife activists, there is a good population of gaur in Khanapur taluk of Belagavi district. However the main threat for them here is from road and railway accidents. The Alnavar-Londa-Castlerock and Londa-Miraj Railway lines have became a death trap for these animals.
