A gold necklace placed on the idol of Lord Shani in the Shani Temple at Patil Galli was robbed by thieves.
The incident came to light this morning when the priest of the temple opened the door on Friday morning and found the necklace missing.
The necklace weighed 20 grams, was worth Rs 45,000, said the priest Anand Adhyapak. There is a shutter which is closed by the priest in the night, the thieves must have used a metal stick to rob the necklace, police said.
A metal stick was also found in the temple premises this morning. The Khade Bazar Police Station has registered a case.
