Corporation General Body meeting
The general body meeting of the Belgaum city Corporation was held on Tuesday.
In the meeting the use of roads for parking was raised and it was decided that with the help of Traffic police such parking on roads would be vacated to ensure smooth flow of traffic on College road, Hinwadi etc.
No RENT for sports activities on Grounds owned by Corporation.
A mini stadium would be constructed at Subhash Chandra Bose Ground(Lele) at a cost of Rs.25 lakhs which the BUDA will allocate. Similarly one more such mini stadium would be built at Hanuman Nagar.
Master Plan committee will look into the allocation of alternate land/site to the owners who lost their property in Khade Bazar Shahpur during the road widening done 10 years ago as per the High court order.
Corporation would now take note of building violations, commissioner said.
The Bhangi Bols (Sanitary lanes) in the city would be cleaned and any encroachments removed so that same could be used for parking.
More emphasis of collection of property tax. Out of the 1,51,000 properties only 85,000 properties are assessed for tax.
