Chikkodi-Sadalga bye-election on August 21
The polling for the bye-election to the Chikkodi-Sadalga of Belgaum district will be held on August 21 (Thursday). The bye-election has been caused due to vacancy created after the former minister Prakash B. Hukkeri resigning his membership to the state legislative assembly following his election to the Lok Sabha.
Poll Schedule:
Polling day – August 21 (Thursday).
Nominations – July 26 (Saturday)
Last date of filing nominations -Aug.8 (Saturday).
Scrutiny of nominations – August 4
Last date for withdrawal of candidature August 6.
The counting of votes would be done on August 25 (Monday).
The model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect. The electrol rolls for the same would be the qualifying date of 1/1/2014 and as published on January31, 2014
