Election expenditure who spent how much
The candidates have filed in their expenditure statements of all the expenses they have incurred for the campaigning for the Loksabha 2014.
Tabulation and accounting of expenditure incurred by political parties for election-related activities such as rallies, roadshows, advertisements and publicity material are included in the same.
Accounting of expenditure incurred by candidates started the moment a candidate filed nomination papers with the returning officer.
The mechanism comprises election expenditure observers, assisted by assistant election expenditure observers, who will work in two Assembly segments each. The details sent by these teams would be scrutinized by the district election officers.
Candidates would be given three books of accounts and they submitted details to the district election officers regularly.
