MLA Abhay Patil has been able to get the approval of Rs. 10 Crore for the Ayush medicine manufacturing unit to be established in Belagavi South constituency.
456 varieties of medicinal herbs are found in and around Belagavi Vaccine Depot. The establishment of AYUSH drug manufacturing center in this area is essential. A total proposal of Rs 13.35 crore has been submitted. Phase-by-step expansion and a grant of Rs 10.00 crore have been sanctioned by the government as of now.

The drug manufacturing plant will be equipped with the latest technologies and will be highly specialized. It is the first unit of government to do so in the country.
Legislator Abhay Patil has repeatedly urged the chief ministers and health ministers to set up the center within the Belagavi vaccine depot, without moving it for any reason.
The drug manufacturing unit of the project is being set up in collaboration with the state and central government and is intended to be modeled on in the country.
