Belgaum Mayoral elections on March 10
After a year of electing the Corporators the city of Belgaum would get a Mayor on March 10. Notifications for the same have been issued to all after the court gave its go ahead for the polls.
The strength of the Marathi speaking councilors is 33, while Kannada is 19 and 6 from Urdu group.
Out of the 15 eligible candidates under OBC (A) category 8 are Marathi group, 3 are Kannada group and 4 from Urdu Group.

The Deputy mayor reservation this time is for Women (Open).
The mayoral elections could not take place in August after a councillor from Mangalore had filed a petition challenging the reservation of such posts. Now however the court has ordered that elections can take place in all corporations except Mangalore.
