In India Technological advancements are badly needed otherwise India’s future will not be secure after 15-20 years, because of severe competition from China, Korea and other countries. Science can be enjoyed by the common people without having degrees in science” he added
“I had started research at the age of 17. I still spend most of time in the laboratory. Those who have walked off the beaten tracks will definitely succeed in life,” Rao said.
He assured students that the entire world would soon look towards India. “We have very bright students in India and entire world will depend on us for technological and professional help,” he said.
“Today, in India, youngsters are not happy because, over the decades generations have ignored the youngsters. One who looks for tomorrow morning is the happiest person. That happiness comes like fountain among the youngsters” he explained.
“Teachers have also great role to play in build students career and their teaching should be inspiring. But we have failed to inspire the students” he said. He urged the Government to allocate more funds for research activities in science and engineering.
Prof.Rao won the hearts of the audience and also asked the media to sit patiently and hear to him.
