A young girl was mowed down by a BMW on National Highway 4 near Fruit Market Gandhi nagar on Monday evening as two girls were trying to cross the NH 4.
Police detained Kyle Ticlo, 25, of Goa whose father is a minister for questioning and he has been sent for a medical test.
Tainiyiyat Bisti aged 18 scummed to her injuries in hospital while her friend from camp was injured.
An angry mob which had gathered there tried to set the car ablaze and also broke the windshield of the car. The police came and arrested the accused.
Kyle has been booked for rash and negligent driving.
