Since May 14, with only one flight to Bengaluru which will also stop from July 1, the SaveIXG group which includes an array of people from various backgrounds from frequent fliers, industrialists, Bankers, Social workers, today met Shri Suresh Prabhuji, Minister for commerce, industry and Civil Aviation and Shri Anant Kumar Hegdeji, Minster of state for skill development at New Delhi.
Sachin Sabnis and Parag Bhandare of the SaveIXG campaign met with Shri Suresh Prabhuji, Minister for commerce, industry and Civil Aviation and presented him the memorandum received from all the associations from the city and requested him to restore the flights to Belagavi Airport. The minister has assured that they are working on the same and will do the needful at earliest.
After this they also had meeting with Shri Anant Kumar Hegdeji, Minster of state for skill development at his residence in New Delhi and discussed about restoration of flights from Belagavi Airport. He immediately called Shri Jayant Sinhaji, Minister of state for Aviation and he promised that Air India will start three operations from Belagavi very soon. The flights would be Belagavi-Mumbai, Belagavi-Bangalore, Belagavi-Chennai.
