BELGAUM : It’s been hardly thirteen days since the Commissioner of Belgaum City Corporation had issued a press note prohibiting display/installation ofadvertisement hoardings at some of the selected circles in the city viz.Chanamma Circle, Krishna Deva Raya Circle (Kolhapur circle), Sangolli Rayanna Circle (RTO circle), Dharmveer Sambhaji Circle (Bogarves) and Basaveshwar Circle (Goaves). The same note had also warned of action under the Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfiguration) Act, 1981 – Police Act. But now the ad hoardings which were removed are back at Dharmveer Sambhaji Circle.
The decision to prohibit display of hoardings/banners/posters at certain circles were taken following deep concerns expressed by Upa Lokayukta Subash B. Adi during his visit to the city.
