And who wants Shivaji Maharaj and Ram Mandir and Shambhaji Maharaj should vote for the BJP,” the MLA is heard saying in Kannada at what appears to be a public meeting held on 17th April, 2018. It is however, not clear from the video when and where it was recorded. Sanjay Patil is the contesting Candidate of the BJP from Belagavi Rural.

As reported by NDTV, he further said, “If Lakshmi Hebbalikar (Congress candidate in Belgaum constituency) says she can build the Ram Mandir, vote for her. They will build Babri Masjid instead. Whoever wants Babri Masjid, Tipu Jayanthi they should vote for the Congress. And whoever wants Shivaji Maharaj and Ram Mandir should vote for the BJP.”
This is not the first time that Sanjay Patil, who is MLA from Belagavi Rural has landed into controversy.
