Save the cow satyagraha on Sunday
Belagavi District Goraksha Sanghatana Samiti president Rajendra Jain, working president Veeresh Kivadasannavar and secretary Sunil Chougule announced that A Statewide satyagraha will be observed on Sunday by the various units of Goraksha Sanghatana Samiti seeking the declaration of cow as the national animal of India and the banning of cow slaughter.
Cow protection forums want all national and regional political parties to adopt a unanimous resolution and ask the State and Union governments to impose a complete ban on cow slaughter. Violation of the ban should be punished with seven years imprisonment and Rs. 1 lakh penalty.
