Apply for passports at Belagavi post office from next month

Post Office Passport Seva Kendra in Belagavi soon, we had published this story on February 10 and now the minister has tweeted that POPSK would commence operations before 31st of March 2017 which is very welcome sign.
Once fully functional, applicants who apply for their passports on-line through the Passport Portal will be able to schedule an appointment at the above POPSK to complete the formalities necessary prior to the issue of the passport.
This service is aimed at making the passport issuance process hassle-free and ease burden on passport offices across the country which are grappling with large volume of applications.
The External Affairs Ministry, which issues passports, is making all required arrangements for roll-out of the scheme in some of the select cities in first half of March.
According to MEA, the objective of the government has been to cater to the demand for passports and to reach out to the people located far away from the passport offices.
