Minister proposes to develop Belgaum
A comprehensive plan will be developed which will be in line to make Belgaum the second capital of the state, Excise Minister and district in-charge Satish L. Jarkiholi said this at a special meeting held at VTU with various officers of the administration.
Minister has invited suggestions from experts and social workers and said he would request the Chief Minister to lead a delegation to the Centre and seek additional funds for development works. The State government had already sent a Rs. 217-crore proposal to implement the 24×7 drinking water supply project in 48 of the 58 wards.
He further said all the public representatives to come under a single umbrella and make suggestions for the overall development of the city. Minister pointed out that the Multi level car parking in the city would ease a lot of traffic and parking problems.
On the same occasion SP Sandeep Patil emphasized the role of the citizens in proper parking and helping the authorities in their work for smoother flow of traffic. SP added the need of the hour is Ring road and railway over bridges which will solve at least 50% of the traffic woes of Belgaumites.
Citizens said that the revision of the CDP has to be done. Belgaum chamber stressed on a sewage disposal plant and railway over bridges.
