Constables suspended for taking away money
Four constables attached to Tilakwadi police station had stopped a car of Laxman Kamate, a resident of Shastri Nagar who was returning from Goa, during a routine check near Visvesvaraya Technological University. They found cash of Rs.5 lakh in the car. Constables A B Navin Kumar, S B Bandiyavar, S C Kore and M B Kotabagi kept Rs 1.5 lakh with them and returned rest of the amount to Kamate.
This incident was reported to Commissioner of police after which the 1.5 lakh was returned and constables were suspended after an enquiry.
