Tension grips Shahpur area after stone pelting
Tension gripped Shahpur area after miscreants pelted stones on parked vehicles damaging about 10 vehicles on late Sunday night.
3 persons have been injured namely Roshan Patil, Sanjay and Wasif Mujawar. Sources say one person was attacked at Achayra Galli and later stone pelting was done at Nath Pai circle, Navi Galli areas of Shahpur.
The police reached the spot and had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowds. The exact reason behind the stone pelting is not clear but this all started after the inauguration of the fort replica in Gade Marg and a small Verbal clash. A group of 10-15 persons pelted stones.
The police have increased police presence in th area and also other communally sensitive areas in the city.
The situation is now under control and heavy police bandobast is there in the said areas.
The police have asked the citizens not to heed to rumors and dont forward any messages without authenticating the same.
