Heavy vechiles ban only on paper
The Deputy commissioner had recently ordered that he would impose a schedule for regulating heavy vehicles with effect from October 1 within city limits. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to enter the city between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m and the same would be effective from October 1 after the death of a college student who was hit by a truck.
But today no one seems to remember the timings nor the police were deployed to block the traffic of heavy vehicles into the city during the above mentioned timings.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Suresh Itnal, who rushed to the spot where the citizens were protesting he also said that he would depute additional traffic police personnel on this section of the road and introduce additional city bus services.
But have we seen any additional city bus services or even traffic cops on the said roads ?
