2 held in connection to Pansare Murder Case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Maharashtra, which is investigating the murder of rationalist and labour leader Govindrao Pansare, has arrested two suspects. The two have been identified as Sunil Jadhav and Sridhar Jadhav from Sankeshwar of Belagavi district.
Police said Sunil and Sridhar are the maternal uncles of Samir Gaikwad (35), who was arrested from Sangli by SIT officials on Wednesday. Samir, a full-time worker of right-wing outfit Sanatan Sanstha, is said to have killed Pansare. Sanatan Sanstha is considered to be a powerful forum in Maharashtra and Goa, and has a branch in Belagavi too.
