Belagavi district drought prone
As many as 98 talukas in 26 of the 30 districts of Karnataka have been declared as drought affected by the State Cabinet, which includes 10 talukas from Belagavi district.
The over rainfall in the district has been deficient by 41%. Government decided to sanction Rs 200 crore to mitigate drinking water supply to the affected people.
Rakaskop from where Belagavi gets drinking water is full, but Hidkal is just half to its capacity which is cause of worry for the citizens.
