Petty cricket quarrel goes communal in Gandhinagar
Commissioner S. Ravi, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Agarwal took fresh stock of the situation on Monday morning, even as the armed police were maintaining strict vigil in the troubled and other adjoining and areas prone to violence earlier.
A couple of people took objection on the kids playing at the school ground of the Urdu, Kannada and Marathi medium on Sunday afternoon in old Gandhinagar. At this point one religious group opposed this and matter was resolved after heated arguments.
But later in the night a group of aggrieved people from a particular community came out in protest with swords, lathis and started attacking vehicles which were passing by. The injured included a police sub inspector and six constables.
