The low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas of Coastal Tamilnadu now lies over Gulf of Mannar & adjoining areas of South Tamilnadu & Srilanka has brought heavy rains to many parts of Southern India.
Rains which commenced on Thursday night gained momentum in the day on Friday and the temperature also dropped.
Met department forecasts the rains to continue for the next two days and would subside.
