Missing officer of Naval mishap Shishir Kumar Yadavannavar shows his bravery
Lt Commander. Shishir Kumar Yadavannavar(32) a resident of RC Nagar Belagavi/Belgaum went missing and was on board the sunken TRV(Thursday) and who is still missing, had offered his life vest to an NSTL scientist as part of his duty as a defence personnel: civilians first. The Torpedo Recovery Vehicle (TRV) sank 35 nautical miles off the Vizag coast, was carrying scientists and technical officers of the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory.

The Deccan Chronicle in a reports, Weapon’s officer of the National Armament Inspection Office of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) attached to NSTL, Lt Commander Y. Shishir Kumar, 32, who was on board the sunken TRV and who is still missing, had offered his life vest to an NSTL scientist as part of his duty as a defence personnel: civilians first. He was deployed by ENC to inspect the testing of torpedoes developed by NSTL.
Shishir studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 camp and did his engineering in Gogte Institute of Technology.
This act of bravery by the officer makes each Indian Proud as he had offered his vest to one of the NSTL staff as he knows that as a defence personnel, it should be ‘civilians first’.
His Father Shivarudrappa Yadavappa Yadannavar (75) retired Havaldar from the Army Medical corps could not make it to Vizag even when he wanted to due to his health. Ningakka (65)mother and elder son, Sharad,are in Vizag with Shishir’s wife, Rohini, and two-year-old son, Pratyush.
